The team at Emma Drewery has been taking care of the visual health of the local community for over 14 years. We take pride in building lasting relationships with our patients which is why we take time to get to know you, your vision requirements and your lifestyle needs.

Emma Drewery has joined forces with Salmoni Opticians in Perth and are working hard together to offer fantastic services such as in house glazing and the provision of a huge variety of exclusive frames and lenses.

Our team

Our team are passionate about eyewear and all products are chosen to reflect the best in modern innovation and design to suit all budgets.

Naomi Scott BSc(Hons) MCOptom, DipTp(IP)

Eddie Russell BSc (Hons) MCOptom.

Eddie studied in Glasgow and qualified in 1996. He spent ten years with Dollond and Aitchison where he worked closely with the graduate programme and has successfully supervised six graduate optometrists. He has a keen interest in staff development and lifelong learning in optometry and is also a member of the British Contact Lens Association.

Eddie took ownership of Norman Salmoni Opticians in 2006 where he has endeavoured to provide quality eyecare for Perthshire families ever since. He is very excited to be bringing his expertise in patient care to his own local community since joining forces with Emma Drewery in February 2016.

Naomi qualified as an optometrist in 2007 after graduating from Glasgow Caledonian in 2006. She completed her Independent prescribing qualification in November 2022. Naomi has worked in independent practice for the last 10 years and has spent some time working in a hospital setting.

 

The highlight of her career so far was helping to provide emergency eyecare in Forth Valley during the pandemic. She has a keen interest in ocular pathology including cataract and dry eye. Outside of work Naomi has 3 little boys and enjoys singing and musical theatre. She has recently played the role of Calamity Jane with her amateur dramatic group.

Claire Lower BSc(Hons), MCOptom, DipTp(IP)

Claire works between Bridge of Allan and our Perth practice.

Claire also studied in Glasgow & qualified in 2015 with a First Class Honours. She is a Member of the College of Optometrists and has supervised 2 pre-reg optometrists & 1 dispensing optician. Claire worked as a mobile Optometrist between Lothian, Borders & Fife Health Boards before becoming a resident Senior Optometrist in Edinburgh & then joining the Salmoni Group. She qualified as an Independent Prescribing Optometrist in 2021 - this enables her to manage conditions that may otherwise require hospital/ GP treatment.

 

Outside of work Claire enjoys walking her dog, baking & crafting. During lockdown she also started to learn Gaelic & has recently raised funds for a defibrillator for our Perth practice by running a half marathon & funds for Sight Saving Surgery by walking part of the West Highland Way.

Allan Gray – Dispenser

Allan has been in the optical industry in a variety of roles for over 14 years. He has a wealth of experience in all aspects of spectacle repairs, adjustments and dispensing of spectacles.

 

In his personal life, he has been married for nearly 10 years and is a busy Dad to 2 children. He also volunteers with a children’s charity on a weekly basis. He enjoys sports in his spare time, mainly football and rugby.

Karen Mooney – Practice Manager

For many Karen will be the first member of our team you will meet as you walk through the door or call to make an appointment. Karen has lived in Bridge of Allan all her life. She joined us in 2008 and has enjoyed getting to know our patients and making sure they access the services they need. Karen loves helping patients choose frames that suit them perfectly and often “goes that extra mile” to track down the ideal product to suit.

Out of work, you will find Karen & her family watching rugby at Stirling County Rugby Club or walking her 2 Springer Spaniels.

Susan Tierney - Receptionist

Fiona Yildiz - Receptionist

Susan joined the team here in June 2018 and works 2 afternoons a week. She is an integral part of the team and is always happy to help everyone. Out with work Susan loves to travel and spends the rest of her free time with her ever-expanding family.

Prior to joining Emma Drewery Optometrist Fiona was a Staff Nurse for 40 years. She enjoys ensuring all patients are well looked after from arrival to when they leave & seeing the happiness they get in picking their new glasses.
